Young Digital Planet is pleased to announce that a new version of yAuthor has just been released.
The best thing about this new version is a new tool to define page layouts. The Grid module allows to place other modules
and add-ons with the use of a table module. The user can define a number of columns and rows and insert chosen modules into cells.
This functionality is a way for authors wanting to design their own content page layouts within a mouse click.

This version has introduced a new form of the Chart module which allows not only to format a font style (bold, italic, underline, hyperlink) but it also enables users to insert images, gaps and dropdown lists. Tables has now become fully interactive elements of a content page.
Apart from the SCORM and HTML format, content created with yAuthor now can be downloaded in the form being in compliance with the QTI
(Question and Test Interoperability) specification.

For an add-on supporting the styling of backgrounds, fonts and frames it is possible to change colors, sizes and styles (regular, italic, bold). The author can also set other style parameters. Such parameters can be determined by developers when creating an add-on.
Media editors have been provided with a bunch of new visual and functional enhancements (e.g. progress bar, volume slider, mute button, current and total time,
full screen mode for the movie module).

Last but not least simple math expressions now allows users to insert gaps to be filled in by the users within formulas in text, choice and cloze modules.
